AP Hires First Dog Photojournalist
The Associated Press has announced the hire of their first ever canine photojournalist, a Jack Russell named Ginny. While some critics think the move is just a publicity stunt — the pup has an extremely popular Instagram feed — the AP insists she’s been hired on merit.
"Having quality photography is extremely important to us, especially as the mobile web gets more visual," said Alina Hahn, a photography recruiter at the AP. "Make no mistake: this dog can shoot.”
The dog’s first assignment will be to cover the upcoming Master’s golf tournament.
